Currently, the overall ratings are calculated solely based on the overall votes. We are looking into creating a rating based on overall votes, votes of specific aspects of movies (eg: storyline or acting), and the difference between predicted and actual votes (eg: disappointment) but this is not available yet.
No, you can enter whatever types of votes you want. For example, you can enter only the overall vote, only the storyline vote, or all of the voting catagories. We recommend you vote only on aspects of the movies you remember and leave the ones you are unsure of blank.
You get quite abit actually, but it depends on your level of membership. First you gain access to more advanced information about the ratings. Next you have a personalized member page that shows your past votes and other information tailored to fit you. Finally you will get access to our discount movie store and, depending on the level of membership, year-round discounts on almost every item in our store. Joining is very easy. Bronze membership takes only a few minutes. To join, go to the chart of membership details.
Bronze membership is FREE. Silver membership is FREE. Gold membership has a membership fee of $5 per year (less than 1 theatre ticket).
Bronze and silver membership lasts for as long as you want to use MovieRate. If you stop using MovieRate for 6 months, your membership will be cancelled. Gold membership lasts for 3 years. Gold membership is never cancelled, even if you do not use it for 6 months.

MovieRate is still in the first stage of growth so we are not exactly certain when the store will be open. Our best estimate at this time would be early December. To celebrate, we will be having enormous Christmas sales throughout December.
